Subject:  An open Letter to the Community

Re:  Washington Post

Date:  March 8, 2010

The Berwyn Community and the Berwyn District Civic Association (BDCA) in College Park are saddened by the departure of the Washington Post’s Printing and Distribution Facility from our Neighborhood.  There were some questions and concerns when they decided to locate in College Park. However, they have proved to be a good neighbor and an asset to our neighborhood.  They worked with the community during construction of the facility, providing tours of the facility during and after construction.  They were active in our annual Berwyn Day celebration, sending the news hounds, setting up an information table, and often providing funds to cover the cost of the “Moon Bounce”.

The Washing ton post was a part Berwyn that will be missed.  The Post joined the city of College Park in the employees “Live Near Your Work” program.  They never forced themselves on College Park, but did become a part of College Park.  Again we are saddened by their departure and will miss them.  We appreciate the time that they spent in College Park and wish them the best of luck in the future.

Sincerely, the Berwyn District Civic Association
